12th May 2003 Windsurfing: Golf Course Car Park, Borth Wind Direction: W Wind Stength: 15-20 knots Surf / Sea State: 2 foot messy surf Air Temperature: 8C Sea Temperature: 11C Weather: Sunny spells Max Speed: Distance Covered: When I got to the beach there was a decent 22 knot wind blowing, so I rigged my 5.0m and my wave board, but once on the water it was evident that it just wasn't going to be enough. I did get planing a couple of times but with the dead onshore winds there just wasn't enough power to get me out through the waves. So, I quickly got my bigger board and tried it with that, but the wind had really dropped by now, so I had to go back to the van and rig a bigger (5.7m) sail. This time it was fine and I had a good hour or so cruising around amongst the big rolling swells in the sunshine. |
